in Dakar, a busy street in Havana, a bar in Barcelona or a freaky
party in
Amsterdam. Open your eyes again, and there is Bernie’s Lounge! Bernie's Lounge is a 9 piece band with members from all over the world, based in Amsterdam. Top class musiciansspecialized in a unique blend of Afrobeat, Latin, funk, samba and hiphop. Singer Susana Raya and singer / saxophonist David Beukers know how the work the crowd. Backed up by a dazzling rythm section and sparking horns they'll make sure you will dance until the last note has faded. Bernie’s Lounge has played numerous festivals like Lowlands, Noorderslag, Amsterdam Dance Event and toured in France, Spain, Italy,Ireland,Belgium, Turkey, Guatemala, Jordan and Brazil. They played as an opener for the Buena Vista Social Club concerts and performed with guest musicians like trumpet player Roy Paci ( Aretuska / Banda Ionica) and afrobeat legend keyboard player Dele Sosimi (Fela Kuti), who are also appearing at their most recent cd RED mango. This was a release by PIAS. At the releaseparty the Melkweg in Amsterdam was packed. In 2010 a new album with new singer Susana Raya, rising star in Europe, will be released.
